Mr. Ardian Arifaj serves as a Political Adviser to the Deputy-Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo.
He has an extensive professional experience, working with international organisations, as a Political Affairs Officer in ICO/EUSR (2007-2008) and UNMIK (2004-2006), in Prishtina, Kosovo; with civil society and think-tank organisations, having worked in the Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED) in Prishtina, Kosovo (2011-2013), the Foreign Policy Club inPrishtina, Kosovo (2011-2009), and International Crisis Group, in Prishtina, Kosovo (2003-2004); and as a journalist and as news editor in Koha ditore, Albanian language daily newspaper in Kosovo (1997-2003). Arifaj has also worked as a trainer/lecturer on Media Ethics, Investigative Journalism and EU Institutions in the Kosovo Media Institute. He was a columnist for Gazeta JNK, a Prishtina-based web-portal. He is co-founder and Chairman of the Board of The Ideas Partnership, a Kosovo-based NGO promoting education, environment and cultural heritage through volunteer activism. Arifaj received his bachelor degree in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of Prishtina, Kosovo, and holds an MSc in European Studies from the London School of Economics, London, UK.
